HISTORY

It was a new dawn on the horizon, a beginning of a new phase of education in Sikkim - the inception of
NAMCHI PUBLIC SCHOOL


Namchi Public School was established on the 28th of July, 1989 by the Human Resources Development Department, Govt. of Sikkim, India. After three years in January 1992, with 99 students and the property of 25 acres, it crossed a turning point when the Government thought it right to hand it over to the Roman Catholic Diocese of Darjeeling-Sikkim.

The school is now under the jurisdiction of the Roman Catholic Bishop of Darjeeling-Sikkim who is also the president of its Governing Body. Since then it has been growing from strength to strength. The present strength of the school is 720.

OUR MOTTO

STRIVE FOR EXCELLENCE - Namchi Public School aims at the education of the people of Sikkim and extends its services to the people in the neighbourhood to the extent possible. " Strive For Excellence " being the Motto of the school, the school lays great emphasis on academic excellence, development of skills, character formation and all round development of the person based on the love of God and the service of human beings. Every Student of NPS is expected to become an agent of change, respecting all cultures, languages, religions and above all, recognising the unique image and likeness of the creator in every individual.
His / Her task is to love and serve the neighbour at all times by upholding the dignity of all people and creating a just society where every individual can live life fully.
